Ophelie Guillermand, who is just turning 20 this year, is a fresh new face in the modeling business that is quickly gaining momentum. Born in Verdun, France, Ophelie’s parents moved to a quiet ski resort town located in the magnificent French Alps when she was 5. It was here that gentle, almost timid and a little bit nerdy Ophelie Guillermand graduated from High School with excellent grades and an aspiration of pursuing the career of a chemist. Alas, having been discovered by modeling agents, Ophelie moved to New York, to pursue professional modeling.
With her distinctly French aesthetic, beautiful Ophelie has become one of the popular new faces on the runways for the season of Spring/Summer 2014. Among the highlights of her career to date are the February 2014 Vogue UK Editorial ‘In The Fold’, as well as December 2013 ‘Model Cards’ Vogue Italia feature. Shot on set, the video provided below gives a feeling for the concept of Vogue Italia ‘Model Cards’ feature aimed at promoting the modelling industry’s most promising new talent including, besides Ophelie Guillermand, Anna Ewers, Cindy Bruna & Gracie Van Gaste.
Appeal and Aesthetic
Ophelie’s photos are elegant and graceful, as she bring something discernibly personal into each one of her photo shoots. Although, it seems that its not her charisma that sets Ophelie Guillermand apart from the competition. On the contrary, Ophelie Guillermand is calming, soft spoken and sensually feminine. Ophelie’s photos do not declare war on your senses or command all of one’s attention, but rather feel quite a bit homing, just like Ophelie’s love for cooking and her preference for traditional French cuisine.
NY and Professional Modeling
Ophelie Guillermand is currently residing in New York, the city deems her favorite at the moment. She is successfully managed by the Women Model Management in NY, as well as Milan and Paris. Throughout 2013 Ophelie participated in a number of distinguished photo shoots, brought forth by the likes of Steven Meisel, Maurizio Bavutti and Josh Olins.
Despite Ophelie’s current affinity for her profession, she did not take modelling seriously at first. Having participated in more than a fair share of runway shows during the fall/winter 2013 and spring/summer 2014 seasons, Ophelie maintains that the most important part of fashion is the feeling of confidence. Among most memorable of Ophelie’s experiences this season are her runway appearances for Alexander Wang, Celine and Prada.
Sartorial and Musical Preferences
In her recent interview for Vogue Italia, Ophelie Guillermand confesses her love for looking chic, as well as her affinity for beautiful fabrics, leather pieces, and sweaters. Unrelated, but upon discovery of Ophelie Guillermand’s soundcloud, its safe to conclude she is a bit of a house-head. Good call, Ophelie, sensual and groovy.
